Tony Lindsay Band
After
20 years as the lead vocalist for Santana, Tony Lindsay has garnered 11
Grammy awards, traveled on several world tours and recorded on seven
CDs: Milagro (1992), Supernatural (1999), Shaman (2002), Ceremony (2003)
and Food for Thought (2004), Ultimate Santana (2007) and
Multi-Dimensional Warrior (2008). Their current tour involves Santana's
First Rock Residency: an exclusive two-year deal for 36 shows with AEG
at the Las Vegas Hard Rock Hotel and Casino's concert hall "The Joint,"
which began May 27, 2009. When not on tour with Santana, Lindsay
performs at various local venues and festivals and in between tours he
is currently recording his fourth Solo CD.
with Special Guest Tom Politzer
Tom
Politzer is a world renowned saxophone player, long time member of the
legendary soul orchestra Tower Of Power, and a seasoned recording
artist. Tom E. Politzer is TOP's lead tenor sax player. Tommy fills that
role totally, not only as an outstanding soloist, but also as a part of
the five piece Tower of Power horn section.
Born in Detroit and raised in Palo Alto, California, Tom contributes to the band's complex sound with his first tenor sax, alto sax, flute, and clarinet. Tom’s musical background and his switch from playing the clarinet to the baritone sax chair (inspired, in part, by Tower of Power’s “Squib Cakes”), set the stage for him to become the professional musician he is today.

plus SF Panhandlers Steel Drum Band
The
SF Panhandlers are a nationally acclaimed, 25 member steel band based
in San Mateo, California. Under the direction of Jim Munzenrider, this
group has been entertaining audiences throughout Northern California
since 1987.
With an extensive repertoire of traditional socas, calypsos, beguines, and other styles, the Panhandlers have become a mainstay at a number of Bay Area events, including the San Francisco Aids Walk, numerous community concert series, and the annual Pan in the Schools Jamboree, a day long festival for elementary and high school steel bands. In 2002, the group became the “unofficial steel band” of the San Francisco Giants, when they were invited to perform at the Playoffs and World Series at Pacific Bell Park.
The SF Panhandlers have recorded 4 CDs, to date - all of which have been enthusiastically applauded by the steel pan community and the general public. Their recordings feature original compositions by renowned composers, fresh arrangements of classics, and innovative treatments of popular songs.
